Dear friendz, watched Aanandhapurathu veedu in Mappilai Vinayagar Multiplex, Madurai. It has got good AC and fine DTS sound effect. Ticket cost is Rs.60 for first class (a week after release). Very less crowd for A.V. & many choosed to watch 'Kalavani' in Manicka Vinayagar theatre, earlier which I have reviewed it as a good entertainer. Sari ippa detailed review'ku poren.
FIRST HALF - Indha movieoda trailer parkumpothu, I got very impressed for two things. 1. For the thrills it had 2. For 'S' Pictures Dir Shankar, Ithuvarai tharamaana padangalai koduthatharkaaga. Padathoda one line story ithuthaan. "Anandhapurathil, Nandhaa thanathu petrorin poorveega veetirku selgiraar, angu nadakum amaanusyamaana visayanagalin pinnani enna..?, enbathuthaan kathai." Let us get in to complete script.
Nandhaa is an optimistic guy, who doesn't believe in spirits. Due to lot of tension in job, he comes for a visit to his old home in aanadhapuram, where his father and mother lived years back. Nadhavoda, Mom & Dad oru car accident'la agaala maranam adayuraanga. That car is layed as an old property inside their ancient home in anandhapuram. A 3 year old baby 'aaryan' witness, certain magical happenings infront of his eyes, but cant explain that to his dad and mom as he was born dumb. Andha baby'a aavihal, oonjalil aatuthu, Bedla bed sheetai olungaaha virikirathu, Easy chair vaithu vilayaatu kaanbikirathu, Piano vaasikuthu, Stovela milk kaaichuthu etc... Aanaal ithu nandhaa, saya singh iruvarukum theriyaamal nadakirathu. So, we come to a conclusion it is not a dark horror flick right from the beginning of the movie. Oru naal nandhaavai thedi adiyatkal silar varuguraarhal, saya singhidam avarhalai patri kooraamal maraikiraar nandhaa.
Oru katathil, adiyaatkal romba tension aagi nandhaavai thara kuraivaaga pesi House arrest pannuhiraargal. Veetai vittu yaarum veliya poga koodathu endru 2 adiyaatkalai gate munnaal nippatugiraarhal. Velaikara lady mattum ulle vara poga anumathi kudukiraargal. Appoluthu saya singhidam nandhaa unmayai solluhiraar. He confess that, all these problems arised because of loss in business, which had an investment of 2 crores and he has got 40 lacs as debt from a money lenderer, who asks to payback 50 Lacs now, by sending these baddies.
At this time his old friend and business partner comes in support for nandhaa. He also stays in the house. At one stage saya singh sees all the mystical happenings infront of her eyes and she tries to prove these are activities of nandha's dead parent's. Nandhaa does'nt believe it. He says that his parents didn't show much love and affection to him when he was alive and why do they want to show it now after death..? He beats sayasingh at one stage and at that time his dead father's walking stick comes spiritually flying from the upstairs and beats him heavily. Then Nandhaa too realizes the presence of his parents in the form of good spirits in the house.
SECOND HALF - As the last date for settlement to the villains was nearing, nandha sends his friend to chennai to get the amount by any means. He goes and come with no money. By this time his friend calls his wife in chennai and ask her to keep a huge amount of money safely. So, the audience is clear that the villain is nandhaa's friend himself. Ithu elaathayum andha kutti payan paarkiraan, aanaal avanuku pechu varathe. Athanaal Parents'oda spirits athiradi actionil irunguhirathu. In the meantime nandhaa calls his school friend in anandhapuram, who was a real estate broker, to bring some customers and sell the old house for a best rate, so as to settle the debt amount and escape to chennai.
Andha broker silarai kooti varugiraar. Andha aavigaluku veetai virka istam illai, athanaal veedu paarka varubavargalai ellaam 'jee-boom-baa' saagasangalai seithu viratti vidugirathu. Udane nandhaa, aavi pidikum aasaami oruvarai alaithu varugiraar. Avar aavigaloda pesi, kastapattu avatrai oru koojakul pottu adaithu vidugiraar. Aanaal avatrai veliyil sendru thirandhu vidugiraar. Marupadiyum aavihal veetirkule puhundhu vidugirathu. Poojai seytha idathil eeramaana foot steps paarthu saaya singh, aavigal marupadiyum vandhu vitathai kandu pidikiraar. Ithai nandhaavidam solgiraar. Ippa Enna seyvathu endru puriyaamal irukum nadhaavirku, parents aavigale help panuthu.
Oru naal, Chennayil ulla friendoda wife'rku husband'in mobile use panni aavigal SMS anupugirathu. Athil, panathai udane eduthu kondu, anandhapuram varumaaru solgirathu. She comes with 2 crores believing that it was an urgent message from her husband. But, the bad friend manages nandhaa by saying the money suitcase was just a personal luggage. Nandhaa also believes it. He controls his wife not to say any truth about his betrayal to nandhaa as a business partner. At one level the spirits, watching all these shameful activities of his bad friend, starts their war invisibly on him. They make him fall from oonjal, throwing the chair & walking stick on him etc .etc.
At one level the bad friend gives idea to nandhaa to leave the evil haunted home @ midnight, while the baddies are little asleep. As per plan they all try to run away with that suitcase, but those villains catches them. Again they go inside home. Now the Spirits Closes all the doors and locks each baddy in a seperate room. It also beats the bad friend and opens suitcase in air and drops all money in the hall floor. Nandhaa & sayasingh watches it all and comes to a conclusion that his friend is a traitor.
Now the bad friend keeps knife over baby's neck and tells to pack all the amount in the same suitcase and he wants to escape with it or he will kill the child. While they pack, an old pen of his father opens the cap automatically & threatens the bad guy with sharp nib pointed towards his eyes. So, he frightens and drops the child down. At this point the baddies were also unlocked from the doors and they get their 50 Lacs, gives back all the remaining money to nandhaa itself. Seeing the old pen of the father the lenderer boss comments, "This is a pen of mahathma gandhi's time, very precious & if he had seen this before he wouldn't have tortured this much, could have carried away only the pen, So, preserve it as safe as a pure diamond" & they all leave the house. Nandhaa anguishly scolds the betaryed partner cum friend, asks him to get away from their home, leaving them in peace. The spirits of the parents too leave with satisfaction saying bye to the cute speechless baby.
MERITS : BG Music is awesome. A new kind 'O' magical treat for all ages, with most scenes made for children's taste. Master 'Aryan' as a dumb baby makes all of us to feel that he is one among the playful childrens in our home or neighbors.
DE-MERITS : It gives us a feeling that we are watching a big budget serial in the big screen. Movie wont make u bore, but give's u prior guess of what will happen next. Under Shankars production, I expected a big budget thrilling horror as per the trailer, but it was totally in-consequent.
