GLIMPSE - Payanam is the fifth directorial venture of Radha Mohan, Who is well-known for soft hits like mozhi & abhiyum nanum... much appreciated for his style of direction that involves hi-end humor paired with sentiment. Here he has taken flight 'hi-jack' as a main theme and let us see what  he has delivered with the help of nagarjuna & prakashraj in the lead.

MERITS : Hats off to the director for taking such a serious plot and dealt it with good balance. Screenplay is really wonderful and makes us addicted to the film right from the word say 'go'. All the characters have done their part well. Pakistani child's acting is sensitive. Prakashraj has delivered what he is capable of over the years. Nagarjuna (after a long gap in direct tamil movies) has done his role as a commando - surprisingly superb. No songs, yet the BG music is heart warming. Once again the director should be appreciated for bringing his comedy touch throughout the movie, even if the plot is a 'chilly thriller ride'.

DE-MERITS : Over 'spoof' done wrt an actor's movie, who always act as an intelligent(?) police and captures pakistan terrorists (I think u might have guessed). Some of the characters are not necessary. Some scenes had no logic yet enjoyable.

MY PUNCH : Payanam could have been made little more sensational in-order to make the 'flight of our life' unforgettable.
P.S : To get full satisfaction, watch this movie in Hi-Class theaters.

GLIMPSE - Its needless to say that "Thoonga nagaram" is another pet name for the sleepless city Madurai. I'm proud for having this town as my home. I was much impressed by the trailer and waited for the movie to hit the screen As early as possible. Finally i made my dates to watch the film & hence this review. (My review will always be neutral and this too not because i'm a born & broughtup of vaigai land)

MERITS : Vimal has shown a lot of improvement in kalavaani and this film will be a milestone for this rapidly growing actor. barani, nisanth, debutant dir/actor gaurav all have done justice to their roles. Anjali has not exaggerated & has delivered to the requirement. Flashback of anjali & vimal  was interesting. The egoistic clash between the two grannies is somewhat new and will be a 'trendy' in tamil cinema. Comedy by Singampuli is a enjoyable along with this 4 guys.Music by Sundar C Babu is simply fantabulous as it makes us involved with the flow of story. Songs blended very well with the situation & even a duet has been cut, as the director might have thought, it may reduce the pace.  Screenplay is racy right from the title. Cinematography by Vijay ulaganathan is the core of the movie as it is in new style and highly technomatic. The director deserves all the applauses as he hasn't given any chance to guess WHAT IS NEXT? Hats off Mr.Gaurav. After a longtime i saw audiences give a standing applause @ INTERVAL aswellas @END. (All waited and watched till the End of Credits with a warm round of Claps & Whistle).

DE-MERITS : Villain's could have been shown with even more cruelty, as the climax was surprisingly cruel. (I think this is the first movie that got less De-merit comments from me, as I'm not able to think anything offensive)

MY PUNCH : Movies of this kind will prove to the world, "WHO WE TAMILAN'S ARE & WHAT'S OUR LEVEL OF DEDICATION TO TRUE FRIENDSHIP...?!!"
One word to say "More than Expectation" :) THAARU MAARU!
P.S: I read many reviews before posting in my blog, but the sad thing is many of the sites under-rated this movie stating it is a "replica" of earlier movies of such a genre. I strongly dis-agree with them, as this movie is gonna be a Mega hit of 2011 (Like subramaniapuram for 2008). I guess it will pickup little late.

யுத்தம் செய் / YUDHAM SEI - MOVIE REVIEW

Release Date : 4th Feb 2011
Genre : Action, Thriller, Psychotic revenge
REVIEW BY : AUTHOR

GLIMPSE - Myskin has presented Yuham sei in a quick succession after the critically acclaimed nandalala. His films anjaathey and Chithiram pesuthadi was liked by many and pronounced to be a good hit. The director was stamped with a style and here too he promises it, but this time with lots of violence & in a chaotic manner.

MERITS : Some scenes are really enthralling. The dark atmosphere adds goodness to the film of such genre. Music is appreciable @ few places. Jeya prakash will become a trademark character artist in tamil cinema, for the wonderful performance displayed here. Only one song in the movie, "kanni theevu" performed by ameer is choreographed in an eye/ear catching manner. Good message told in an unwantedly confused plot.

DE-MERITS : Why Myskin doesn't learn from his previous mistakes...? Here too there are poorly executed fight scenes which makes us laugh "when the scene is sympathetically seriuous!" (for eg: rogues come one by one and get knifed by cheran and picks their fallen knives slowly - Like anjaathey naren's fight in hospital). Cheran needs to improve a lot as he doesn't fit the role perfectly, nevertheless to say he is a poor choice for an intelligent CBI officer. The movie also resembles Easan @ some point. Music by debutant 'K' gives headache after a while, as his tunes doesn't change from the loudness and lengthy eerie BG. Some scenes are not clear or made clear till the end. Why all the characters of myskin's film behave as an abnormal personality..? is an unanswered question from right his debut film. Many such silly childish things were flavored throughout the movie & don't want to waste my time by mentioning it all.

MY PUNCH : A movie for the 'A' class audiences, that too if they whole-heartedly accept, "Yes! We watched a good thriller movie!"....? Miss it if your 'head' is out of 'ache'.

REVIEW BY : AUTHOR

GLIMPSEThis movie came without expectation and the only news about this movie was Mirchi shiva as hero and some gud songs composed by yuvan. As I had no other movies left to watch, went to this movie just for Time-Pass. (Already watched kavalan, aadukalam, siruthai and posted my reviews. Note : Posting this review after a week).  Let us see whether my time was good or bad...?

MERITS : Yuvan's music was good and couple of songs were impressive. (Only) Few dialogues are appreciable.  :(

DE-MERITS A very boring screenplay. Totally logic-less love sequences both @ present & @ past. Mirchi Shiva has done a care-free role and nothing to boast of his performance, which was below-average compared to tamil padam or vaa QC. Heroine just accompanies shiva. Abishek after a longtime in silver screen has acted similar like what he does in small screen serials. A very childish & mindless performance by all the artists. Nothing more or less to talk.

MY PUNCH : Save yourself, if you have read my review. Yes, I had a bad time.

MY RATING - 45% (For the First time I'm rating below 50, which implies the film is a total "WASTE")
