GLIMPSE - After yaaradi nee mohini and kutti, this is the hat-trick combination of dhanush and mithran jawahar. Let us see in the review whether they have succeeded or not.
FIRST HALF - As the film starts, Dhanush helps shreya saran (guest appearance) run out of the house and marry her lover, whom is his uncle's (Bagyaraj's) daughter. As they have made all the marriage arrangements with another guy for shreya, the whole family turns their anger over dhanush for this activity. So, he stays with his friends. At one point one of his friend loves a girl and tells to dhanush to kidnap her at the day of marriage. But dhanush mistakenly kidnaps genelia as he is confused of similar mahaal names. Genelia thanks dhanush for kidnapping her as she doesn't want to get married to his uncles son. They chase genelia and dhanush helps her. Dhanush falls in love with her on the first sight. He plays a drama in his family using genelia. She also plays it perfectly. At one point they also accept dhanush forgiving his mistakes. Meanwhile Bagyaraj identifies that genelia was playing a drama and at the moment her family arrives there and captures her to home.
SECOND HALF - Here comes our "sinna kalaivanar" Vivek. Theatre starts to giggle as dhanush use his innocence to make his love success. Vivek working as an auditor for both kounders helps dhanush without his knowledge. Meanwhile all dramas are played with the help of dhanush's family members showing them as millionaires from London and as old friends of vivek. Seeing the status of them genelias uncle plans to marry his son to that family, without knowing their original status. Dhanush also plays as assistant of vivek and makes those gounders to believe in him deeply.
CLIMAX - Finally dhanush plays his drama perfectly and arranges to get married to genelia. Finally the villain who has got beaten by dhanush and gounder's son knows the truth and fights with dhanush. They also tell it to both gounders. What is their decision on dhanush and genelia forms the climax.
MERITS : Dhanush does a cool boy work once again. Vivek has done a good comedy as "emotional" egambaram all with his rib-tickling emotions. Good Screenplay and Clean family entertainer.
DE-MERITS : Lots and Lots of characters makes a little chaos. Songs and BG Music is average. Some scenes are not necessary and could have been trimmed to reduce the length.
MY PUNCH : Uthama Puthiran is out and out for the family audience to enjoy their weekend in a sophisticated theater with a bunch of popcorn and ice chilled coke.
