Wishing Aadhi a very happy birthday (14-12-2010)


GLIMPSE - Though aadhi has earned a good name for his acting as a ruffian in Mirugam, It was Eeram that took him to the family audience & the masses. Ayyanar shooting was completed months back, but due to Endhiran phenomenon and unavailability of theatres, the release was postponed. I admire aadhi for his talents, and here is my review. 


FIRST HALF - Movie starts in chennai, aadhi was shown sitting heads down with a rod in hand on mountain top, while heavy rain wets him. There was a dead body in-front of him, just burried. Flash back runs, Aadhi has played the role of rough and tough guy who searches for job being a graduate. Aadhi was the elder son for his parents, he has got a brother and sister too. Santhanam has played as aadhi's friend. Aadhi being jobless was treated badly by his brother, who works as a Cameraman and was a stammerer (Thiku vaai). Aadhi is short tempered and he fights back roughly with his brother, whenever criticized. One day aadhi gets an oppurtunity in the local women's college as a volleyball coach, being a reputed state champion. There he meets meera and falls in love with her. Meera's late-father wanted his daughter to be a volleyball champion. So, aadhi decides to coach day and night to full-fill her dad's wish. Suddenly the story moves to present and aadhi goes into a bar. He drinks heavily and fights the local rogues. Those rogues call upon the big-dhadha of chennai city who is the right hand for MLA (Mahadevan). Aadhi fights him solo and kills him by soaking in rain water. Then he joins the MLA replacing that right hand, being a fearless guy. Questions rise in our mind, "why he is doing all these things?".

SECOND HALF - At one point aadhi kills another close member of the party, as he wants to kill MLA through aadhi, inorder to catch his chair. But, aadhi reveals it to the MLA and spot-kills that guy with a car, as per mahadevan's order. Again the flashback rolls, Here mahadevan comes as chief guest for a function in aadhi's kumbakonam village. A young girl (Aadhi's close-friend's sister) unknowingly dash mahadevan and  being a womanizer he wants her for the night. But, this matter was known to aadhi and gang of friends that night sends another girl mouth-tied, whom was the daughter of that MLA's friend more-over like daughter to himself. As, they send her in, makes power cut. Aadhi's brother cover's MLA's room with his handy cam. When they swich on power suddenly before limit's were crossed, MLA gets shocked and Asks her sorry. She runs home and all these actions are telecasted in Sun TV, since aadhi's brother sells the video coverage to media. At the same time aadhi gets a central government job and moves to Chennai with his brother. Knowing that, the MLA and his gang members follow them and  brutally kill his brother. It happens, when Aadhi  was out to get medicine and food for his ill brother. 
CLIMAX - Aadhi while returning back, witness the murder of his brother from a distance and notice the face of the murderers, whom he kills later by joining hands with the MLA. Aadhi burries him at mountain top (which was the opening scene), without the knowledge of his family members. As a rivalry action, he takes revenge on those who are the cause of his brother's death. He tells all this to the MLA, while taking him in car and movie ends with Aadhi's violent vendetta against the main villain & later arrested @ the spot of his brothers death ceremony.

MERITS : Aadhi has performed well in emotional, love and fight sequences. Santhanam's comedy gives relief in the slow paced first half  (later he is absent). Villain Mahadevan's performance is fine.


DE-MERITS : Lots and lots of negative aspects. Dialogue & Screenplay is damn poor. What about aadhi's love & meera's aim is a big question mark?, Though brother sentiment is some-what new to tamil industry, the action sequence revolves in the same old fashion ( Hero beats any number of rogues & makes them fly over the sky with a single kick, as if they were filled with helium gas :) LOL ). BG score by thaman is low class and dull picturization of 'good to hear' songs add boreness to the boredom.   

MY PUNCH : Aadhi has lot of talent's, But it seems the director and technicians doesn't.

90% - 100%     = WATCH BEFORE YOU DIE!
