GLIMPSE - Kaarthi's growth chart goes linear initiated from Paruthi veeran. Being asst director of manirathnam, its quite natural he has learnt what is Accurate Acting. As his total films count to 5 with siruthai, he has also scored 5 stars with his action packed comedy in siruthai. Kaarthi has done a dual role as Rocket raja (Pick Pocket thief) and Rathinavel pandian IPS (DSP).  Lets see what has worked out and what was lacking.

MERITS : Kaarthi is fully vibrant and energetic throughout the movie, even-though he has done a dual role. Shanthanam has supported the comedy track with his rib-tickling dialogues. After a long time, we hear Vidyasagars BG music and though not upto gilli or dhool, he has delivered what is necessary for the garam-masala flick. The fight scene before interval was mind-boggling and the way climax has been shot is sure to make this movie an above average hit. Hope girls will love this movie n karthi [As lot of girls who sat a row behind me were going gaga over the film :) ] The best to mention @Last was the DSP role by kaarthi, it will earn him good name from all class audiences.

DE-MERITS : While kaarthi scores high marks from film to film, Tamanah was on the reverse track, her role was so idiotic and logic-less, added to her poor innocent acting. Main Villain was not at all impressive, looks like he is an aged TB patient. How could 2 karthi's look alike (!?), even-though they are not twins or blood related, only differentiation is their way of talking and a small scar on the nose of 'fraudulent' karthi. Songs could have been made with little more cheer & care. // Why does many of our directors always tell a gangster story with andhra BG, while it could have been well said with tamil nativity....? :( //

MY PUNCH : If you dont want to waste your 2 hours and 40 minutes,  then go watch siruthai. Sit, relax, whistle, clap, giggle n enjoy!
JINGTHAATHAA... JINDHAA... JINDHAA... JINGTHAATHAA... THAA...!

  1. I really do not understand how Siruthai can be better than Kavalan. Siruthai songs were crap and first half was quite mokka because of Karthi - Tammanah scenes. Karthi has done well. Otherwise nothing great. Even Santhanam has few comedy scenes, don't get how his comedy was so great when there wasn't much. I'm just concerned because you preferred a masala film over a more performance-oriented movie.

  2. i have already told in the disclaimer that its just my view. opinions may differ to thy taste. i goto movie to pass time thats why my blog title is TIME-PASS. at the same time gud perfo movies like myna has got gud rating in my review. But, i never discouraged vijays perfo in kavalan, but the point is 'it was not upto the mark' compared to his earlier love flicks. Siddique, asin, vadivelu, rajkiran, roja everybody hasnt delivered what they are upto. Thanks for ur comments. Keep visiting my blog.

  3. Yes I understand that opinions differ but I find it hard to believe a masala film was better than a love story with a great climax. I am waiting for your next review.
